One day, a crow found some grapes and sat on the branch of a tall tree to eat them. At that moment a cunning and hungry fox was walking by. “Mmmm! What a tasty smell,” the fox said, looking up to see where the smell was coming from. “Look at that the crow! He has some grapes,” thought the fox, “Maybe I can get them.”
The fox then sat under the tree and praised the crow’s beauty, “Oh, black crow! Your feather are the shiniest I have ever seen.”
The crow felt happy and started showing his wings off by flapping them.
“Oh, beautiful crow! If you have such beautiful feathers, then you must be able to sing very beautifully as well,” commented the fox.
The black crow started to sing without realizing that the grapes are still in his beak, “Caw, caw, caw.” The bunch of grape fell out of its beak and onto the ground.
The fox the gobbled up the grapes as fast as a bullet and said, “Silly crow. You are not beautiful and you sound terrible. Because of that you are now hungry.”

A boy named Jack was sent to the market one day, instructed by his mother to sell their cow. As Jack proceeded to the market, he met a stranger who offered to trade five “magic beans” for the cow. Jack accepted the trade and returned back home with the beans in his pocket.
Jack’s mother was angered that he had not obeyed her instructions to sell the cow and threw the beans out of the window.
As Jack slept, the beans germinated into the soil and a gigantic beanstalk grew in their place by morning. When Jack saw the huge beanstalk, he immediately decided to climb up it. He arrived in a land high up in the clouds that happened to be the home of a giant. When he broke into the giant’s castle, the giant quickly sensed a human was near and would say
Fee! Fie! Foe! Fum!
I smell the blood of an Englishman.
Be he ‘live, or be he dead,
I’ll grind his bones to make my bread.
However, Jack was saved by the giant’s wife and as he escaped from the palace, he took a bag of gold coins with him. Jack desired more treasures from the castle in the clouds and climbed once more up the beanstalk. This time he stole a hen that laid golden eggs. Again he was saved from harm by the giant’s wife.
Jack disregarded having nearly been discovered by the giant twice and decided to go up the beanstalk a third time. This time, he stole a magical harp that played by itself. The instrument did not appreciate being stolen and called out to the giant for help. The giant chased Jack down the beanstalk, but Jack managed to get to the ground before the giant did.
Jack found an ax and immediately chopped the beanstalk down. The giant fell to earth, hitting the ground so hard that it split, and pulling the beanstalk down with him.

Once upon a time, the Wind and the Sun came to have a quarrel. Either of them claimed to be stronger. At last they agreed to have a trial of strength.
“Here comes a traveler. Let us see who can strip him of his cloak,” said the Sun.
The Wind agreed and chose to show his might in the first turn. He blew in the hardest possible way. As a result, the traveler wrapped his cloak even more tightly around him.
Then it was the turn of the Sun. At first he shone very gently. So, the traveler loosened his cloak from his neck.
The sun went on shining brighter and brighter. The traveler felt hot. Before long he took off his cloak and put it in his bag. The Wind had to accept his defeat.
MORAL : Fury or force cuts no ice where gentleness does the job.
